A story about a shirt...

In January 2020, I went to Stanley Kubrick’s exhibition here in LA. I was on the verge - I knew I couldn’t live my life the way I lived but didn’t know how to create a change. The exhibition was very inspiring but I didn’t feel like spending $30 on a shirt about directing and so I just took a picture of it. Just for fun… Or was it a reminder? A dream I was scared to say out loud? After all, “who am I to direct a movie?!” But I guess that other voice, the voice that comes from heart, soul, and courage was stronger than fear this time. When COVID happened I’ve told myself that if I only had one chance on this planet to make a film - it should be Parallels.
The rest - is history.

It’s always hard to say goodbye to something you’ve invested your heart and energy to. But the good news is there is a Chapter II - Post Production - and I can’t wait to see what we’ve created.

My short film "Parallels"

I’m currently in pre-production for my short coming-of-age film “Parallels,“ that I wrote and will also direct!

As a strong-willed but dispirited young woman struggles to come to terms with her past losses, she realizes that she's been walking the same life path as her late mother and grandmother in Soviet Russia.

This is the first time I’m jumping in the director’s chair but I feel ready to tell this story. Stay tuned!
